NO SCHOOL MONDAY, Monday is Memorial Day

Tuesday:

Come to school at the regular time. Report to the classroom, as usual at 8:00am in your promotion clothes.

Parents please go to Hoover directly after dropping off your kiddos.

The incoming fifth-grade committee has some items for sale at Hoover before promotion (7:45am-8-20am).  There will be fabulous promotion plushies and signable dogs for cute memories and lasting mementos.

Promotion will begin at 8:30am.

There will be time for photos IN FRONT of HOOVER immediately following the promotion ceremony, but we may not take photos inside. Hoover High School graciously lends us this facility and we need to vacate the premises completely at our agreed upon time. Do NOT take down any decorations or photos inside of Hoover-the fifth grade committee will handle this.

Students will meet up with their teachers again in front of Keppel at 10:00 am.

Students will then have a parade through Keppel as the stars of our own Keppel Parade.

After that, students will have time to change their clothes for the Play Day part of the festivities.
Remember: bring play clothes that you can get wet in, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, and water.

Lunch will be provided (pizza and snackies) on the third level.

Students will spend the remainder of the day playing and enjoying each other's company.

2:15 is dismissal.

*Wednesday, May 31st is a regular day of school complete with PE

LA: Write three different introductions for your essay at the beginning of your essay. You'll work with your classmates on Monday to pick the best one for your essay.  You may use a question, share an experience in your life, dictionary definition, quote, or use humor to kick off your introduction. Here's a sample of using the dictionary definition:

Webster’s defines liberty as the “state or experience of being free.” Dr. King, Ms. Angelou, and our Founding Fathers all used different types of language to express this “quality or experience of being free.”
