Math:
Today students continued to learn about scientific notation and reviewed expanded notation. Math journal pages and two worksheets were completed. Three others need a parent signature.  Tomorrow is Keppel Art day. Thursday is a major district benchmark covering ALL material taught this year. I suggest students study their notes.

Language Arts:
Students completed common core ready book pages 88-92 on summarizing literary texts. Do you all remember "Somebody who lived wanted but so..." for summarizing? Isn't that much easier than the crazy graph in the common core book?

History:
Chapter 9, Lesson 1 was covered by a substitute today.

Other:
1. Arts day is tomorrow, Yay!!!
2. Report cards are sent home on Thursday for the second trimester.
3. AR Quiz results will be sent home with report cards.
4. Many of you still need a can for colonial day drum.
5.Don't forget you need to COME TO SCHOOL in COSTUME ON APRIL 3.  All the fifth grade teachers and most parents dress up too-it's super fun!
6.  Parents and students can check out the upcoming state tests at smarterbalanced.org.  For fun, trying taking the high school level tests...oooh la la...they are something else!!
7. Finally, I was out with a family emergency today. I expect to be back tomorrow. :)
