Language Arts:
We worked on writing paragraphs about three types of early American theater: Vaudeville, Melodrama, or Musical Theater.
We worked on writing sentences:
Coordinating Conjunctions: FANBOYS (for/and/nor/but/or/yet/so) for connecting two independent clauses-add a comma after the first clause.

Subordinating Conjunctions- If your subordinating conjunction word (because/although/before/when/while/after/since/even though/ despite) is in the middle of the sentence, then there is NO comma. However, if you're sentence begins with one of the subordinating conjunction words, then you need a comma after the dependent clause.

Assignment:
1. Read the "Buying Dory" article in the Scholastic News.
2. Write 5 FANBOYS sentences about the article, and write 5 subordinating conjunction sentences about the article.
3. Make sure that you use a DIFFERENT CONJUNCTION for each sentence.
4. Underline the conjunction in each sentence.

Don't forget to keep up with your iREADY lessons, type for a few minutes each day, and most importantly-READ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read those books, instructions, cereal boxes and maybe even someone else's mind! :)
