We are plotting a malevolent take-over of Mr. Shelton's class. Design a flag and we'll stake our claim....extra credit for history: Design a Room 1107 flag and explain the significance of the designs on your flag.

Also, be sure to ask me about the fate of our friend "Spidey."

Get multiplication worksheet signed by a parent and finish EASY addition worksheets-we'll check for CHO tomorrow.
There are 23 NEW assignments on tenmarks.com about fractions-they're due by 12/28....have at it. By the way, there is a strong correlation between math grades and students who do the tenmarks.com assignments....I'm just saying....

Students composed narratives as the second part of the district benchmark. MANY students still owe me their final drafts with revisions and a parent signature on the graded final drafts.
Science:

We studied xylem and phloem, and types of roots. STUDY
Other:

We had a fabulous field trip today to Glendale City College Planetarium and Science Workshop. Ask your kiddos what they learned today. They are all happy that we are going back this spring. :)

We completed RCC 140-146...due Monday.
I collected reading logs. Many students did not turn in complete reading logs. This will be reflected in their report cards as "N" for Language Arts effort.

Students began reading about plant classification
History:
Chapter Five review was completed today, test = MONDAY

We studied metaphors and similes. We began work on finding themes in poetry. Complete page 137 in RCC book. Pages 140-147 will be assigned tomorrow, if you want to get a jump start on them.
History:
We read about the English Colony at Jamestown. We're getting really good at taking notes in a table. :)

We did a project in which we calculated the cost of each sculpture created in our classes with Mrs. Zierhut. We used rounding, multiplying, adding, and dividing with decimals to get the job done.
-Make a final presentation copy with all values neatly organized and all calculations shown. I'm turning these into Mrs. Zierhut and Ms. Siegal tomorrow.
-Study test tomorrow on all things decimal.
Language Arts:
We worked on revising.
Sign into your google docs and MAKE all revisions.
Science:
We spent quality time with microscopes and student presentations today.
History:
Finish taking notes on Chapter 5, Lesson 2.
Make sure you know who these men are & their significance to French colonization of North America: Cartier, Champlain, Jolliet, Nicollet, Brule, and Marquettte.
Other: Some students still need to turn in their field trip forms!
The fifth grade committee is in need of serious help organizing, volunteering, and procuring supplies for Keppel Rocks. Fifth graders keep all the profits from this event.
Dine out night = this WEDNESDAY, 4PM-10PM ISLANDS RESTAURANT IN GLENDALE
WREATH SALES END THIS THURSDAY!
