Hello all,
There will be much information shared today on this page; it'll be in four main sections: digital citizenship reminders, google classroom login codes, PE from Coach Forbes, communication/connection.
Before we begin our soft opening next week it is imperative that we go over the rules of digital citizenship. Simply put, digital citizenship consists of awareness regarding the norms and rules that govern online behavior, and a cautious approach to the inherent dangers of the internet and technology use overall.
We have had extensive lessons in our computer time about digital citizenship. I would encourage students and parents tonight to read the following article and have another discussion about being safe on the internet and acting appropriately. I believe such a discussion is vitally important seeing the amount of technology use required in our "distance learning" period this year.

1. Digital Citizenship as posted yesterday from Mr. Hewitt:

2. Google Classroom codes:
You need to sign into the google classrooms of the same teachers that you normally have. So, if you have Pimenta for language arts, Hewitt for math, and Cannon for science & history, then you'd need to sign into all three. If you only have Cannon and Pimenta, only sign into those two.
Directions: Log onto google account. Go to the waffle. Click Classroom. Then click "+" sign in upper right corner. Then you can use these codes:
Mrs. Cannon's google classroom login code: pwt7m3i
Mrs. Pimenta's google classroom login code: zqx6yqc
Mr. Hewitt's google classroom login code: afatf6u
Contact me, Mrs. Cannon, at mcannon@gusd.net, if you cannot get in.
3. PE information:
Remote Learning - Physical Education Information
Greetings students and parents,
I hope all are well, active, and spending time with family. For the next few weeks, we will be offering suggestions for physical education enrichment activities and practice. The weekly lesson will be sent out by your classroom teacher. Please look out for these attachments being sent to your inbox.
In addition to these attachments, students will also be able to visit my Google Classroom (Coach Forbes PE) for additional worksheets, workouts, and activities. The codes for your PE Google Classrooms are as follows:
Google Classroom Codes:
Keppel Elementary Cougars: bapfudw
If you will not have constant internet access, you may view/download the weekly schedule that will be emailed to you and participate in the activities that are listed. If you will have access to the internet, you can join my Google classroom and check in each day to complete the activities, check out the links, and compete with your classmates to see which classes will reach their “active goals.”
The Google classroom for your PE classes will start on March 30th. All of the activities that will be posted are able to be done in and around your house during the remote learning period. If any portion of the workout seems too difficult, or if you feel too tired to continue, please take a time-out and continue when you feel ready. Additionally, if the workout seems easy, please feel free to add more exercises or repetitions to your routine.
I am looking forward to seeing your progress for the next few weeks. Once the page is set up, you will be able to report your “active minutes” and let me know how you did!
In the meantime, I would like to encourage you to continue the Coach Forbes Rule on daily fitness development: Push-ups and Sit-ups, morning and night…4-5 days per week! (Example: 5 push-ups, 10 sit-ups each morning and night)
Blessings,
Coach Forbes

Hello everyone,
First and foremost, I was so glad to have contact with you and learn that you are healthy. I want to remind you that we are all doing these stay-at-home measures to keep us all healthy. This is a great time to be alive. We have so many resources available to us to keep in contact and keep learning.
Are your seat belts fastened? We're about to go on the wild ride on online learning! First off, take a deep breath-we are all going to be okay! (I needed to tell myself that) Let's all do a shark fin together...awwwww puppies and relaxing beach days...okay, now back to it.
You'll need to do a few tasks to prepare before we start up on Monday:
1. Make sure you can log into your school google account-go do it right now just to be sure
2. Make sure you can get to clever.gusd.net after you sign into google account
3. Sign into my google classroom Cannon 2019-2020 with this code: pwt7m3i
3. Please sign up for a FREE Brain pop student account (brainpop.com)
4. Read for at least 30 minutes today. ;)

Hi all!
I am missing you all sooooooo much! I mean my dogs are good company, but they don't have nearly the creativity nor the sense of humor as do my fabulous students. Plus, let's face it, they smell like DOGS! I hope students are enjoying some free time and pajama time this week. Starting next week, we'll begin our online school!
1. Your first task is to respond to the Home Computer & Internet Access Survey. Please complete this: Home Computer & Internet Access Survey The district is distributing Chromebooks to families that do not already have access at home. This is how we are making sure everyone has access to online schooling.
2. Please email me after you have completed the survey and tell me that you completed it with your name and your child's name:
mcannon@gusd.net
3. Also, I am working this week from home and am available to answer questions. I would love to hear from you and especially from students...also, this is my sneaky way of getting students to practice their typing. (You know how I am...)
4. Enjoy your comfy/jammies time!
Please check in late this week (Thursday/Friday) for the next directions.
