More than a Meal applications are used to qualify students for lunch programs AND qualify Mark Keppel for additional Federal, State and Local resources even if kids don't qualify for a lunch program.

Language Arts:
Message to Mrs. Cannon's language arts students: Today we had a class discussion about the large number of 1s and 2s on the recently graded material.  Many students are struggling with the new rigor of this language arts program. 2s are not unusual for this time of year. Please do not punish your children for getting a 2 on an assignment. Please DO encourage them to listen carefully and get their work done during the week.  I urged students to pay attention to my instruction, directions, and the directions written on the top of the assignments. The lessons definitely build throughout the week and culminate in assessments that challenge them to think deeply about the reading material.

Assignments:
1. Finish annotating main ideas with stars in the margin and underlining/highlighting key details for the "Dred Scott" passage paragraphs 11-20.

2. Write missed vocabulary words 10 times with their definitions. If you only misspelled the word, you may write only the word 10 times.

3. Get FIVE different parent signatures:
    a. Text Dependent Questions for SR1
    b. Text Dependent Questions for SR2
    c. Constitution Essay
    d. Comparison/Contrast Writing (L. 14)
    e. Reading and Vocabulary tests (one piece of paper)
