Colonial Day Updates:
   Colonial Day is Wednesday, May 30. 8am - 4 pm
  Students need to come to Colonial Day in costume-ideas were sent home today.
  Students need to come with a sack lunch for Colonial Day.
  Parents must be at school by 4pm to pick up students on Colonial Day. Do not make a plan to have your child call you when they arrive in order to be picked up. Do be here, on time, at 4 pm to pick up your child.

Hi all. We need a lot more volunteers for the Block Party this Friday, 4/27, from 4:30-7pm. If you can spare an hour of your time to help with our booths, it would be SO APPRECIATED. We really need your help.

The block party is a fun time for the whole family, with members of Keppel, Toll and Hoover providing games and food and crafts. And if you have little ones in tow, please feel free to bring them along. All ages are welcome. Thanks in advance!

1. Today we did test preparation for the CAASPP testing which begins next week.
2. Get an adult signature on the "Ming" writing assignment.
3. Story test = Friday for "Top of the World"

Math:
We reviewed pages 624, 627-630 for Volume test.
Test = Wednesday
Many students did not get their math quiz- a review of many fifth grade concepts signed!

Science:
We did review for CAST (state science test). Testing begins on Wednesday.

History:
Be working on those projects!!!

No school tomorrow: Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day.
Optional Fire Safety Essays due on Friday.

We did an experiment comparing the properties of substances...vinegar, solubility, and iodine. Then we used those properties to identify a mystery substance.

History:
Chapter 12 test = tomorrow.

Please be sure to wear old clothes on Tuesdays...it is our Asian Brush Painting day.
Thursday is our Book Fair Day...bring money, if you want to buy a book. :) Bring a parent if you want to buy books after school.

Study/read "Klondike Kate" come in with any questions. Study spellcabulary/spelling words on pages 159 and 162 respectively. Tests =Friday

Math:
Complete 1 volume worksheet.
Get 4 parent signatures on graded worksheets.

"Y" = Yet = student has sufficient mastery. Yay, keep it up! :)

NY = Not Yet=student has not proven sufficient mastery. Some students got a NY because I couldn't see their work, I wasn't sure whether it was calculators or students completing the work...

History:
Chapter 12 test = next Wednesday
State Project sheets are going home tomorrow. Start thinking about which state you want for your project (and 3 back-ups, in case someone else takes your first pick).

Other:
Tomorrow is Spring Picture Day. Only students who are making up 5th grade promotion pictures or who are buying pictures will take photos. Those students may have free dress.

Return all field trip forms ASAP-field trip is on Monday. Students need to pack a lunch for this field trip.

A. write your name on outside of all bags/belongings/water bottles
B. Bring chapstick and sunscreen
C. Bring a sun hat/baseball cap
D. Get a good night's sleep and breakfast. :)

Students NOT attending camp: regular school day, meet in Mr. Shelton's room for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Have a great week; I will MISS you!!!!

Read
Practice packing and unpacking your camp supplies

Math:
Study for test tomorrow on unit 9-use worksheets and red pages in book.

Science:
Study for chapter 6 test tomorrow. Use all quizzes and worksheets and chapter review.

Other:
Practice packing and unpacking your camp bags. Make sure your name is on the outside of all bags and on all items you want returned to you. Be sure to pack pajamas, chapstick, sunscreen, a sun hat, a water bottle.
Be on the front lawn 8:00am with your supplies on Wednesday.

Regular school day tomorrow and for the rest of week for those students who are not going to camp.
