Behavior:
Please discuss the importance of making good choices at school with your child. The end of the year is approaching and there are many fun activities planned. Attendance at these events is a privilege, not a right. This means that if the teacher believes that the student will be a danger to him/herself or others, we have the right to revoke the privilege of attendance. Students are encouraged to use their words to solve problems and keep all hands/feet and objects and food and water to themselves. Any student not following these rules can be removed from the activities.
I encourage students to come to me if they are having a problems with another student. I am happy to help mediate problems before they become fights. Additionally, regardless of the intention and spirit of the exchange-students MUST NOT TOUCH OTHER STUDENTS. Several students have begun wrestling/pushing/shoving for fun, this is NOT ALLOWED.
YELLOW SLIPS are a warning system for behavior, I may revoke the right of any student to attend fifth grade activities for their or other students' safety regardless of how many "points" that student has.
