Math: We worked on finding the volume of composite shapes. We completed CC Ready book pages 246-247 and 1 worksheet pages 53/54. Remember you MAY use a calculator to complete the long division as long as you show YOUR work for each part of the subtraction.

1. We began the state testing today for the Smarter Balanced CAASPP testing.
2. Remember to study your notes from the year about the different steps for fifth grade math.
3. There are MANY opportunities to practice on tenmarks.com
Language Arts:
We worked on completing the finished the Performance Task time in class for the Smarter Balanced CAASPP testing.
History: We read chapter 9, lesson 4 about colonial governance. OPEN BOOK TEST = FRIDAY

1. We continued our work on finding the volume of rectangular prisms today with CUBIC UNITS!! We finished CC book pages 227-231.
2. Tests on the conversion unit were handed back. Corrections for another chance to get credit for this test are due on Monday with a parent signature.
3. State testing on math begins on Monday and is administered sporadically over the course of the two weeks.

2. Graded writing assignments were sent home today; please get a parent signature and return by Monday.

Please return the permission slip and $ for our April 30 field trip ASAP! Thank you to those who have already done so. Reminder: April 30 is the Spring Orchestra concert, so those talented musicians will be staying at Keppel in order to perform (no permission slip needed).
