Math:
 We completed two quizzes today on adding decimals and on factors, prime numbers, and rules of divisibility.
We completed MJ 18, 31, 42, and 46.


Language Arts:
We took notes on Rough Face Girl (partially)
Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters (completely)
Study your word list for Friday's spelling/vocabulary test.  Words are on spellingcity.com

Science:
We completed the Chapter 8 test today.

History:
Projects were turned in, yay! They look great!

Other:
1. Type for 20  minutes
2. Read for 40 minutes.
3. iReady 4 lessons total this week due: 2 on math and 2 on reading

Math:
We reviewed steps for successful completion of word problems, Everyday math lesson 2-4,  pages 38-39. Review your notes and make sure you try the extra problems in the Study link, lesson 2-4.

Language Arts:
Study your vocab/spelling list; test = Friday on all 25 words. STUDY!!!

Math:
We completed our unit on adding and subtracting decimals.

Language Arts:
We had our test on "Rope Burn" today.
Many students did not return their graded work signed by a parent. Please make sure all assignments are returned promptly.

Science:
We finished chapter 3, Lesson 3 on Salts.
We covered the pH scale and the uses of salts.
Chapter Eight test = Tuesday

History:
Projects due on Tuesday, September 30.

Other:
All iReady lessons-2 more for math and 2 for language arts are due this Sunday by 9 pm.
Type for 20 minutes.

Math:
We worked on adding/subtracting decimals in the Common Core pages 50-54.
Make sure you know the steps and one way to model your answers!!!

English Language Arts:
Big test tomorrow on "Rope Burn."
Make sure that you know your vocabulary words and the difference between interrogative and declarative sentences.

Science:
Review Science chapter 8, Lesson 3.  Write a question about the pages that we covered: 436-439.  We will cover pH scale tomorrow.

History:
Projects are due next Tuesday, September 30.

Other:
Type 20 minutes
Read for 40 minutes.
iReady lessons due by Sunday, 9pm.

Math:
We completed all pages on rounding and estimating. Common Core 30-33; MJ 32,33,35,36, 39 & two math worksheets
When rounding:
1. Count by the place value that they tell you to round to.  
2. Draw a number line and write your two choices on each end.
3. Place the value that you must round to on your number line.
4. Decide which side is that number closest to & use that number for your answer.

Example: Round 4.569 to the nearest tenth.

1.  Counting by tenths... 4.5, 4.6

2.   4.5                     4.55                       4.6


3.   I______________I___I___________I__
     4.5                     4.55   4.56               4.6

4.  It is closer to 4.6, so the answer is 4.6.

Language Arts:
We completed our story map pictures & Practice Book pages 1, 3, & 6.

Science:
Complete reading and taking notes for  Science Chapter 8, Lesson 2.
Science Chapter 8 test = next Tuesday (notes will be very important-hint, hint)

Other:
Type for 20 minutes
iReady 2 math, 2 reading lessons by 9pm on Sunday

Math:
Your child should be able to explain how to round decimals using a number line. We completed through common core book p. 29

Language Arts:
We made a six part story diagram. Your child should be able to find a direct quote from the story to prove that they know what the characters, setting, conflict, 2 plot events, and resolution. Make sure you include the page number for each quotation.

History:
Remember that next week, Tuesday your History projects are due.

Science:
We finished Chapter 8, Lesson 1. Have your child explain what reactivity and  precipitate means. Also, how are photosynthesis and cellular respiration are related?

Other:
Type for 20 minutes; read for 40 minutes;  4 more iReady lessons due by this next Sunday, September 28 at 9pm.
Picture day tomorrow, don't forget your order form!!!! Remember it is free dress, not FREE for ALL. You may wear whatever color you wish, but it must still be appropriate and modest.

We are working on using our knowledge of place value and number lines to round correctly.

Language Arts:
We are reading "Rope Burn" and drawing our vocabulary words. All six words with pictures and definitions are due by tomorrow.

Science:
We just began chapter 8.  Conservation of Matter was the topic of the day. Please sign your child's notes after she/he explains what that means.

Other:
Typing = 20 minutes
Reading = 40 minutes
