Math:
Please get a parent signature on the math worksheet from yesterday.
Language Arts:
Please be ready to turn in your letters to self. Remember, each letter should have:
A) a Greeting
B) a detail about something that makes you anxious about 5th grade
C) an academic goal and a personal goal
D) your prediction about the best part of 5th grade
E) someone you want to get to know better in fifth grade & why
Parents:
I put √+ on work that is proficient, √ on work approaching proficient, √- on incomplete work or work that needs considerable attention.
I told students that I expect them to get your signature by bringing you the paper to be signed with a pen, a hard surface to write on, and a POLITE request. It is the student's responsibility to take care of school papers and get the required signatures. Students who don't return papers with signatures MAY bring a note from home explaining why they don't have the papers. I understand that sometimes parents want to keep work to review with the student at a later date. However, students who fail to bring a note or a signature do receive a 7 minute morning recess detention.

Hi parents,
We had a great second day of school. There are still a couple of items that require attention:
1) I asked your children to ask your permission to give your phone numbers to a couple of other students in the class in case they wanted clarification about an assignment. This is completely OPTIONAL-I went over this in great length at school today. Please do not feel any pressure to release your phone number if you're not comfortable. :)
2) I sent back many of the blue forms because the office requires an out of state contact, in the case of an emergency. This person could also be out of the country. The point is that local phone lines are often tied up in the event of a major emergency, but the school could still contact a person who does not live in the vicinity.
3) The other point of attention on the blue cards is that they require parent initials on the bottom, not just a check mark.
4) Please read the red letter regarding the serious nut allergies that are present in the fifth grade this year.
5) For table points for your child: Please write down your name and your favorite snack from the list on the Peanut and Nut-Free "Safe" Snack list. This list is located on the back of the red letter. :)
6) Thanks for checking the CHP blog! ;)
Students:
I'm collecting the math worksheet tomorrow. Please explain to your parents why we regroup.

2 blue forms (emergency cards)
1 white form (emergency card)
1 lunch form per family
Forms I, II, III from the district booklet
Forms turned in tomorrow completed = 10 points per form for each child's table.
PLEASE send your child with water to drink and get them to bed on time.
We have a few students with SEVERE nut allergies, please do not send any type of nuts with your child (no peanut butter, granola bars, or nutella). We want our kids to be happy and HEALTHY at school. Thanks for helping to keep fifth grade nut free and happy!

IF YOU DIDN'T PURCHASE A YEARBOOK, please consider bringing something to have other students sign. HAGS!!! That is all we are doing tomorrow-besides dancing!!
We are not having a traditional class party. We are just having a dance and yearbook party. Feel free to bring your water and a backpack to take home our school supplies. See you then.
